The Village Green Preservation Society

The Title track of this masterpiece of an album by the kinks and written by Raymond Douglas Davies is one of those songs that makes you wish you could turn back the hands of time and go back to those simpler young and innocent days before the age of technology, machinary and mechincal nightmare took over our lives, and the working man's cafe, the village green, the gorcery stores, were replaced by Starbucks and the malls. Bring back the Working Man's cafe, ain't it a pity, scapheap city, and maybe God should be worried about saving all of us as well as the KinKs...They're tearing old quality downWithout any pity,Now they're coming to take me awayTo Scrapheap City.
